See our news about PB125 improving human blood vessel function in a new clinical study!

The Pathways Bioscience PB125® dietary supplement improved blood vessel function in human subjects

        August 18, 2026

        Brooks Hybertson

In a recent peer-reviewed scientific publication our PB125® dietary supplement was shown to improve blood vessel function and protect blood vessels from disuse challenges in human subjects. PB125® was highly protective in this double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized human clinical trial.

This human study provides clear scientific support for PB125®.  As you may know, the “gold standard” for research remains human clinical trials that are double-blinded, placebo-controlled, and randomized.  These types of experiments are rarely performed in the supplement space. So it was very exciting for PB when an independently funded multi-University and VA Medical Center-affiliated group chose the Nrf2-activing PB125® supplement for use in their study on oxidative stress, aging, and body disuse. We are extremely pleased (but not surprised) that PB125® improved blood vessel function in older adults (67 +/- 8 years) after only two weeks, and that PB125® protected blood vessels against functional losses caused by physical challenges such as bed rest (in older adults (67 +/- 8 years)) and limb immobilization (in younger adults (27 +/- 7 years)).

Healthy blood vessels play a vital role in all aspects of human biology, physiology, and wellness, so it is very important to support vascular health during health challenges (like bedrest or limb immobilization) and during aging in general.

PB125® is a safe, potent Nrf2 activator containing active ingredients carnosol, withaferin A and luteolin. Derived from natural plants, these ingredients were extensively studied for their synergistic properties. Every ingredient and the final product undergo triple testing in Pathways Bioscience’s laboratory to ensure optimal quality and biological activity.
Nrf2 factor controls the rate of production from hundreds of different genes that allow cells to survive under stressful conditions.

Based on the extensive amount of new, published scientific literature and our own research, we have identified at least five control points in Nrf2 activation...
